Warning : It is strongly recommanded not to open the Gate, which is not modifiable. Gate's case has not been built in this purpose.

The gate includes two electronic cards. Each card has its own functionality. The first card contains the communication module and is locatend just above the hood. The second integrates the motherboard dedicated to the treatment of data and which is built with an Intel Celeron M360 processor (600 Mhz). The display and the I/O system are provided by the Intel 855GM chipset, which support the 3D OpenGL extensions. The photos currently shown on this website are taken from the machines that are used for developing purposes. The final product is very similar to them.

The gate has one extern extension port incorporated to its case (under the fairing delimited by a blue strip). The signals coming from the motherboard go to this port, which will be used in the future material extensions.

The communication board includes the ADSL modem and the router fonctionnality. The ADSL modem allows the Gate to be be connected to NeufCegetel Network with 8Mbps maximun speed. The router fonctionnality allow the Gate to be used as an Internet passerel with other IP devices like workstations.

Three ports present on the communication card are located behind the Gate and allow the communication card to connect to the PTSN (public switched telephone network. (The EasyNeuf service ist not based on a Full Local Loop Unbundling offer. The illimited access to the PTSN is provided by the automatic preselection of the subscriber's line on the Neuf Cegetel Network).



The terminal is a multi-layer board with actif components located on both sides in order to reduce the use of the space. The board has been developped especially for that project.

Its characteristics are:

  * 1 Intel Celeron Processor ULV M360, 600Mhz
  * 512 MB DDR1 Memory
  * 512 MB Flash Memory (Includes the Operating System and user data)
  * 1 audio output connector
  * 1 VGA connector
  * 6 USB Ports
  * 1 Sector connector

The board is ventilated using two fans integrated into the box. The use of two fans protects from a possible failure of one of them.
